Scenario Management for Traffic Control of an Intelligent Intersection

One variant of SMaaS is the operation of automated traffic management, which includes intelligent traffic control, such as intelligent intersections in particular.

Hereby Scenario Management is coupled with a Digital Twin of the traffic system. The Digital Twin is used to identify and predict the different traffic situations. An according control strategy is stored in the scenario catalogue for every known traffic situation, for which the best possible measures for controlling traffic with the help of suitable AI methods. Unknown traffic situations are captured by anomaly detections, which trigger dedicated optimization routines, to find out the best control strategies quickly under human supervision.
